'Sit with Infinity'
Project Overview
“Sit With Infinity” is a digital artwork created in Procreate, designed to reflect the quiet yet complex act of sitting with oneself. Through layered, looping pathways and shifting tones, the piece becomes a metaphor for self-inquiry and the nonlinear journey of introspection. Rather than presenting clarity, the work embraces ambiguity—celebrating the endless, often chaotic, nature of personal growth. The process of self-study is shown not as a straight road but as an intricate, looping system with infinite branches and no fixed destination.
Context & Background
This piece grew out of a personal reflection on the nature of stillness and internal exploration. In a world constantly in motion, the act of sitting with one’s thoughts—without distraction, without escape—can feel radical. “Sit With Infinity” plays with this concept, inviting viewers into a visual space where movement and stillness coexist. Influenced by both meditative traditions and abstract mapping, the work reflects the tension between control and surrender, as well as the ever-present pull of external noise versus internal truth.
Process & Technique
The artwork was built digitally in Procreate using layered line work, repeated brush textures, and intentional overdraw. Starting from loose spirals and gestural lines, the piece evolved through an intuitive layering of forms—some precise, some spontaneous. Bold, rhythmic contours in purple and red weave across the composition, representing repeated thought patterns or habitual loops. Subtle elements, like the small figure seated among the lines, provide a focal point and suggest the quiet act of witnessing. Digital brushes were carefully chosen to blend hand-drawn imperfection with the fluid control of the digital medium, allowing me to build density, rhythm, and narrative through repetition.
Final Work
In the final image, a single figure sits mid-stream within a flowing maze of vibrant, looping paths. The bright, almost electric color palette contrasts with the still posture of the figure, emphasizing the paradox of inner stillness amidst outer complexity. The overall composition invites the viewer to pause and trace the movement, to see themselves within the layered mess of lines. “Sit With Infinity” is less a map and more a mirror—an invitation to reflect on where we sit in our own journey, and how we engage with the infinite layers of the self.
